Not a College Graduate? You Can Still Take the PMP Exam

Go For It!

You are not employed in a big corporation but you are working for restaurant’s kitchen operations. Should you take a PMP Exam to improve your lot? Why not? Take this scenario – your boss inks a deal to prepare lunch for 1,000 wedding guests. This will require a manager to keep things going smoothly, and that is you. You have to handle problems and solve these fast. That is a big reason for taking that exam.

Since you can take the PMP course at home on your own time, it would be easy to fit this in your busy schedule. Or you may choose to go through the course on weekends. All you have to do is get a relevant PMP course and have your lessons at home anytime you are free. You only take the PMP Exam after you have completed the mandatory 35 contact sessions.

Still you have another option, take the course and learn from it without taking the PMP Exam. But if you want a promotion or a better paying job, take the exam and pass it. It will earn you a certification that would boost your chances with prospective employers or prompt your boss to give you a fat raise after five years of slaving in the kitchen and doing the procuring for the boss.

Before the PMP Exam

You admit you’re lazy and going onsite for everyday lessons can drain your brain and your time. Who can still have the energy with all that stressful kitchen marathons everyday? Forget about going to brick and mortar sites, go the way of the internet! There are several online sites offering PMP courses and you get all the help you need to pass the PMP Exam. You don’t have to go to hotels to attend the training

After paying for the course, you can start your training by downloading the training tool. This done, forget the internet. You can do all your studying without needing the internet. You also have the option of combining your self-study with a classroom course partnered with the website where you signed up. Online support is available should you have any problems.

After the course, you are given a certificate of completion and you use this to apply for the exam. Applying for the exam can be done online. After paying for the exam, you will soon receive notice that you can take the exam in any of the accredited testing centers. You can check out the location of these testing centers in the PMI website.

The PMP Exam

The exam is computer based and there will be 200 multiple choice questions and you are allowed four hours to finish the exam. As a non-PMI member, a $555.00 fee for the exam is charged, quite a hefty sum but worth it once you have your certificate certified by PMI.

Passing the PMP exam is to understand the PMI version of project management and memorizing the relevant terminology. Do not be fooled that you do not need to memorize anything. You do. College graduate you are not, but you have a chance at a PMP certification.

As time went on, their scope grew to include building electrical systems and all other aspects of building design and construction. The first fire department to be represented by NFPA was the New York City Fire Department in 1905. Today, fire departments, insurance companies, manufacturing companies, trade associations and average individuals are all represented by the NFPA. Currently, the NFPA has over 6,000 volunteers who develop and maintain the 300 codes and standards created by the NFPA.

Utilizing Elearning in Third World Countries

The so-called third world countries blame poverty for the lack of economic, political, and social progress in their nation. It is a known fact that to alleviate poverty, citizens need education. Governments of under-developed and developing countries need to find the right type of solution that will impact the greater population.

Education plays an important role in our globalized world. Workers need to improve their performance and skills to be able to compete with other nationalities from more developed countries.

While education remains conventional, technology evolves rapidly, encroaching on our daily lives and activities, changing the way we live and how we interact with one another.

Through the marriage of education and technology, Elearning was born to provide a solution for higher demands in training. This is one solution that may prove to be worthy of government support. There are advantages to using this new pedagogy that can be cost effective and more efficient.

Long distance learning – The environment provides a platform where expert teachers specializing in unique skills from different parts of the world can interact with students even if they’re halfway around the globe. Vocational schools for example, involved in teaching trade skills can offer certifications for specialized subjects previously not offered because of lack of knowledgeable instructors.

Flexible Schedules – Students from poorer countries need to work for a living. Drop-outs in colleges and even high schools are often times due to financial constraints. The students will now have an option to pursue their degrees via online universities and still have the time to work to provide for their families.

Cost effective – In the long run, computer and web-based education will be cheaper than hiring teachers and building school facilities. This method of teaching will require basic premises like a computer lab and a few facilitators to guide the students.

Customized education – The students will be able to set their own pace unlike a classroom setting where teaching is generalized to the whole class.

Obstacles:

Lack of infrastructure – For Elearning to work, a fast internet connection is necessary. Government has to address the telecommunication needs of its people before they can use this technology.

Lack of proper equipment – Computers especially in the rural communities in far-flung regions like mountains, farm areas, or islands are few or if they have it, chances are they’re ancient and outdated.

Lack of instructional materials – In poorer countries, many residences do not have their own computer. The students need to have additional materials like books and manuals to supplement their learning at home.

Poverty is such a broad problem but it’s generally caused by lack of opportunities. Education should be the top priority, not only for developing countries but all countries in the world. Quality education promotes not only economic prosperity, but also social and political change.

Elearning is a viable alternative to bridge the gap in the educational system if only the government is willing to support the project. Not only will the people have more opportunities, it will also give them the chance for a better future.

A computer graduate and loves to travel. Reading current news in the internet is one of his past times. Taking pictures of the things around him fully satisfies him. He loves to play badminton and his favorite pets are cats and walk with them in the park with some dogs.
